This site is run by a father and son team. The father was born and raised in Wigan, and has supported the Latics since his father first took him to Springfield Park in the late 1950s, well before the club was admitted into the professional league.
The son was born in the UK but spent much of his childhood in Latin America, where he'd learn about the Latics by reading newspaper clippings sent by the grandfather. As technology has caught up, following the team has become easier. The son does not miss a single minute of Latics action these days.
The father used to watch Hugo Rodallega's former club Deportivo Cali, in Colombia, every week. The son's loyalties were with Cali's rivals, America. But they were both delighted when Hugo signed for the Latics.
I’ve seen that player for many years and all I can say is that he’s a good winger. He’s fast, very fast, he works hard on field and his left foot is simply great. Allright he’s not the best winger in the world is for us a good player.
Good signing
Thanks Raff, he sounds like a great fit. Very pleased to have a left-footer in the squad to fill the void left by N’Zogbia. And real pace. Cleverley had his moments last year but as he is showing at Manchester United this season, he is more at home in the middle of the park than on the wing. It always bothered me not to have genuine pace on both wings. With Moses and Crusat down the flanks and Rodallega or Di Santo or Sammon up front, the attack is looking very, very mobile.
I wonder if this means the Gio Dos Santos deal is off? And Shaun Maloney?
I gotta say that I like Crusat. I hope he will help us with goals, passes and everything
